About the brewery

Every great beer has a story. Every story has a hero. The hero of this beer is St. Arnoldus, the patron saint of beer brewers. He would have saved many lives in the dark ages by encouraging his parishioners to drink beer instead of polluted water. Deeds that not only gave him his holiness, but also a beer that was especially created in his honour. The secret of the abbey beer Steenbrugge is its own spice mixture 'gruut', which gives the beer its delicious taste. A recipe that has been continued according to tradition since the Middle Ages.

Frothy, with an apricot nose. The malt obvious in the flavour, but with an underlying herbal and spice, background. Surprising rather sweet aftertaste and finish! Excellent.
