About the brewery
Established by Ann and Seamus Scullion in 1981 in the courtyard of Hilden House, the former home of the Barbour linen barons. Here the Scullions reintroduced into Ireland the tradition of a local brewery making beers of distinctive character and taste. Hilden is now the oldest independent brewery on the island of Ireland.

This little beauty came totally under the radar. I've had a few from Hilden (Headless Dog, Barney's Brew) but is totally forgotten I'd ordered this from the shop. Didn't expect it to hold its own as well as it did compared to some highly rated bets that accompanied it. Fresh, bitter yet restrained and very easy to drink this was an unexpected treat.
Good pale ale. Massive malt hit...bitter finish but undertones of sweetness...almost toffee.
