Pale amber colour, slightly hazy, with a steady foamy white head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of lemon, sour grapes, peach. Fruity, tart taste with lemon, green apples, grapes, lime and a peppery finish. Medium body, mainly dry. Fresh and tasty, allowing the Morpheus unique yeast characteristics to shine through. The recipe holds a combination of pure barley and wheat with no added sugars.

About the brewery

A 1200hl microbrewery located in the village of Moen. Their house yeast strain is called ‘Morpheus’ and was the inspiration to start experimenting with mixed fermentation, resulting in sour ales. Alvinne’s main mission is now to create innovative sour beers through a new style of Flemish blond sours by using the mixed fermentation method. You could call it the missing link between Oud Bruin and Lambic. Because of this, Alvinne has gained international attention and respect.

Lots of sour, balanced with lots of depth - a real great example of a sour which doesn't need fruit flavours to shine

I really like fruit sours. I liked this too, but thought it lacked depth of flavour, which is why I didn’t give it 5. Despite what some other reviews on here say, it isn’t that sour!

I love sours but thought this a tad of a face melter as we affectionally call them :)
