Bulgaria Reds

A delicious blend where the Merlot provides the structure, body and plump character whilst the Pinot Noir adds the distinctive and charming red fruit, earthy flavours. All married by the toasty, gently spicy French oak barriques. Round and soft, full of character and delicious! Roast lamb, slow-cooked duck, or a rustic ratatouille would make a fine pairing for this wine.

A hugely characterful, classic blend from the superior Melnik region. Deep red with fantastically expressive aromas of prunes, cedarwood, rosemary, cloves and dried cherries. A rich savoury palate with lots of blackcurrant and blackberry flavours, some earthy spice and fine tannins. A warm and inviting wine packed with flavour and heritage. Perfect with rich lamb casseroles or a spicy chickpea harissa stew.

Made from the increasingly rare yet full of character, indigenous Bulgarian variety - Mavrud, this juicy red shows a perfumed nose of aromatic herbs, berry and cherry notes, and a touch of spice. The palate is elegant with forest fruit and blackberry characters backed by supple tannins with good weight. All complemented by the juicy acidity. It reminds one of a very good Italian Barbera - extremely versatile and food friendly.
