What's included

We're back in Portugal this month, to visit some of our favourtie wineries and learn more about the magic that happens in the mountainous lands between the Rio Mondego and the Dao river. We also explore why younger drinkers are spurning gadgets, the 'wine incubators' providing a leg-up for aspiring winemakers and how wine historians go about their research.

In the heart of Portugal's Dão region, a mesmerizing blend of traditional grape varieties has come together to create an exceptional red wine. This delightful blend consists of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Jaen, and Alfrocheiro Preto, each contributing unique characteristics that harmonize perfectly in the bottle.

A classic blend of two indigenous Portuguese grapes where Fernão Pires provides the distinctive ripe citrus & tropical fruit, orange blossom and honeysuckle flavours whilst Arinto adds the crisp, lemon-zest like acidity. Refreshing and vivacious with an incredibly well-balanced mouthfeel. This is a great wine to savour well chilled on its own but it also makes an excellent pairing with richer seafood, including Portugal’s famous Bacalhau (salt cod).

Complex and characterful wine with aromas of dark fruits, plum, cherry, chocolate and coffee beans. Full-bodied and full of character with bright, ripe black fruit, toast, figs and seductive sweet oak flavours. The wealth of tannins, acidity and flavour from Touriga Nacional is well-managed and complimented by the judicious use of oak barrels and blending partners. Decant 30 minutes before serving.
